Mark BurrowsHi Families,

Two Quick Things before the weekend:

Thing One — We will announce the winners of the October Attendance Challenge during the Children’s Moment at the 11:00 am Sanctuary service.

Thing Two — This month we explore another all-time favorite story — Jonah.

See below for those of you who like to play along at home.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Mark

Bible Story: Jonah

Like so many before him, Jonah is a reluctant prophet.

He eventually does what God tells him to do, but not before learning the hard way that you can’t outrun God.

Memory Verse: Ephesians 4:32 — Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.

Themes: Jonah is a story about do-overs, second chances. It’s about forgiveness — both giving and receiving.

At the end of the Jonah story, we see that Jonah continues to struggle with the concept of forgiving others. (Don’t we all?)
