Youth Worship & Weekly Programming
Our theme this year is Well-Balanced based on Healthy Plate Discipleship. Our focus throughout the next year will be to offer our teenagers opportunities to have a well-balanced plate (worship, serve, give, pray, play, and learn) in their journey of discipleship.
9:30 – 10:30 am | Justin Youth Building
Our Sunday morning program just for youth offers a great chance to connect with friends and meet new people, worship God, and grow in faith. It begins in the Big Room of the Justin Building with worship for all 7th – 12th-graders led by youth staff, our youth-led praise band, and other youth. After worship, our teenagers are dismissed to Sunday School classes divided by age.
Middle school (7th – 8th grade) remains all together in the Big Room for a time of fun games, a lesson, and M-groups (middle school small groups).
High school (9th – 12th grade) makes their way to the class of their choice (which they choose before the beginning of each semester). They get two choices each semester (Terms 1 & 2) that last for six weeks and cannot make the same choice twice in a row. Here are the classes we offer:
- Soul Care is based on engaging God’s presence through prayer, worship, and different creative means. The goal is to seek and learn new ways of finding rest in God both individually and with friends.
- Table Talk is based on critical engagement with Scripture and discussion of different topics both theological and social. The goal is to create engaging discussion and debate through the lens of faith.
- Faith in 3D is based on connecting the Christian story with all stories. We use Scripture, movies, music, and stories from our life and other mediums to practice seeing God’s story in all stories and our story in God’s story.
- Middle School Leader (11th – 12th grade only) is an opportunity to serve our middle school friends by helping create a fun and engaging environment for them to learn and grow in their faith.
We wrap up in time for families to worship together at 11:00 am.
Cornerstone Youth Choir Rehearsal
Sundays | 4:30 – 5:30 pm | Choir Rehearsal Room
Cornerstone Youth Choir offers youth grades 7 – 12 an opportunity to learn to sing, perform, and lead worship music several times a year. All singers welcome — no auditions or experience required. Just come with a willing heart and a desire to help spread God’s love through music.
Sundays | 5:30 – 7:30 pm | Justin Youth Building
Snack supper | $5
Every Sunday night during the school year we meet in the evening together as youth group after Cornerstone Youth Choir Rehearsal. The Refuge is what it sounds like, a safe place to come and be yourself with friends and engage God’s presence in a variety of ways. It will always consist of a snack supper followed by something different each Sunday of the month. Once a month we will have opportunities to serve, to just hang out with friends, to worship, or to experience Scripture in an immersive and creative way. It’s a time of rest and fun before you have to start a new week of school!
First Wednesday Dinner
Each month | 6:30 – 7:30 pm
Our First Wednesday youth dinners happen during the school year. Join us the first Wednesday of each month from 6:30 – 7:30 pm for some good food and friends. Meet Andrew and Kat at restaurants in the area, announced each week before dinner!
