“When Jesus fed five thousand people with only five loaves of bread and two fish, he was showing us how God’s love can multiply the effects of our generosity. God’s kingdom is the place of abundance where every generous act overflows its original bounds and becomes part of the unbounded grace of God at work in the world.”

From the dramatic growth we now see every day going on in our Downtown Fort Worth and surrounding areas, to the conceptual building plans that will allow our faith community to step up to these new opportunities, to the Focus First churchwide planning process now fully underway to bring everyone’s ideas, hopes, and dreams together to discern what God wants our church to do next, these are indeed happening times in our First Church faith community.
In keeping with this exciting growth and potential, our Stewardship theme this year is Unbounded Generosity. This term has special meaning for me as your Senior Pastor because it both recognizes the joy and impact our church’s already generous giving has had on our thriving ministries and programs — even as it challenges us to consider how giving can go from being something we do to who we are as disciples of Jesus Christ.
As you prayerfully consider your financial contributions to help support our ministries and programs for the coming year, may I ask a favor of you? Would you please consider completing the enclosed 2018 Commitment Card by November 12?
Because our Finance Committee uses this information to forecast and develop our operating budget for the coming year, it is of tremendous help to know as much as we can about the financial support we will receivefrom our church members. Please note that this pledge is not a legal obligation, and if your financial situation
changes during the year, just let our Business Office know of any changes to your financial commitment to our church.
If each one of us finds a new level of generosity this year, how could that impact the good we are able to do as a church?
How could a deeper commitment to generous giving impact your own spiritual growth?
I invite you now to join me, our clergy, staff, lay leaders, and all of the members of our church as we each enter into our own time of prayer and discernment of what unbounded generosity could be for each of us.
Thank you for all you do and all you are for our church.
Grace and Peace,
Dr. Tim Bruster,
