FUMC Day School Fundraiser17_HSCelebrating FUMC Day School At Our Annual Fundraiser

FUMC Day School knows the importance of early childhood education. That’s why our Preschool and Parents’ Day Out (PDO) programs are here for children five days a week. Preschool provides excellent care for infants and toddlers, with enriching programming to make sure our preschoolers are ready for kindergarten. Parents’ Day Out offers simple activities, music, and age-appropriate play to nurture and stimulate creative thinking.

To show support for these top-notch programs, our Day School parents host the annual Preschool & PDO fundraiser to enable our school to do so much more thanks to the money raised each year. FUMCFW member and school parent Haley Manulik is co-chairing the 2017 fundraiser together with Jennifer Sanders. “It’s about all of us coming together as a whole to celebrate the fact that we have such a great school,” Haley says. “On top of raising money for the school, we want everyone to feel like a family and feel special.” One of their biggest goals for this year is to welcome new families who have babies coming into the PDO program. “We know that it is harder for PDO parents because they come into the school and don’t know what the auction is about,” Haley explains. “This is a good way to make them feel at home with our great school and community.”

Like last year, this fundraiser will be on the Joe T. Garcia’s patio, where parents can visit as friends instead of just moms and dads. “We always have a fun evening out with no pressure in a great environment,” Haley describes. “There’s good company, good food, and good feelings about giving back to the school you love for your kids.” Plus, this year’s theme will be a real treat: “A Night of Pure Imagination” based on the delicious dream world baked up by “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.”

“We wanted to have a fun, bright, airy, colorful theme out there because that’s what reflects our children,” Haley says. Parents can visit the “candy factory” to fill up a take-home bag for their kids, and there will be plenty of great auction items. One lucky person will win big with the “golden ticket” raffle option. For only $100, you’ll have the chance to unwrap your choice of any live auction package — from a ski trip to a Broadway show to a puppy. While this one is open to parents, grandparents, and friends alike, only 75 tickets will be sold — meaning great odds for anyone’s taste.

The money raised this year will be used for maintaining current school programs that benefit the children day in and day out. Proceeds will help support our indoor and outdoor playgrounds, security and cameras, walkie-talkies for the carpool line, and extra programs such as Soccer Shots and Spanish.

Join us at 6:00 pm on Thursday, April 6, at Joe T. Garcia’s for our annual Preschool & PDO fundraiser — an evening to connect with other parents while supporting our school and our children. Click here to learn more and purchase tickets.
