Noon | The Center for Transforming Lives
512 W. 4th St. | Fort Worth, TX 76102
Let’s walk across the parking lot to visit our neighbor the Center for Transforming Lives (formerly YWCA). FUMCFW has a long tradition of collaboration and partnership in the amazing work the Center for Transforming Lives is doing and has done — in particular, the Center for Transforming Lives child care program for children who are homeless.
The Center for Transforming Lives moves women and children from poverty to independence through safe housing, early childhood development, and financial empowerment. Once the first YWCA in Texas, the organization changed its name in 2015, and has grown to what it is today. Through two housing programs, three child care centers, and a financial empowerment program, they are able to help families throughout Tarrant County leave homelessness and poverty behind.
There will be snacks made by their catering kitchen and from a former client who is trying to raise enough money to start her own bakery. We hope that you will consider celebrating this valuable partnership, and our special neighbor, by walking over to the Center for Transforming Lives after worship for a quick tour and to learn about all the new things they are doing.
