Tim75“Love Unconditionally”

Last in the Series: “The Gospel According to Dogs: What Our Four-Legged Friends Can Teach Us”

Matthew 5:43-48

Dr. Tim Bruster

There’s nothing like being greeted by your dog when you get home at the end of the day — especially at the end of a tough day. Or even when you’ve been gone for a whole week on vacation. Sure they’ve been fed and cared for while you were gone, but stop for a moment now and remember how it feels when your own dog sees you for the first time in a day or even a week. No wonder we love dogs. Because of their unconditional love, dogs make our lives better because they love us unconditionally — they are quick to forgive and accept us just as we are. Read more.

Focus First17_SQSamantha Morgan75Q&A with Focus First Committee Member Samantha Morgan

Focus First Steering Committee Member Samantha Morgan shares her thoughts and reflections on being part of the Focus First planning process.

What excites you most about the Focus First planning process?

The opportunity we have to really be intentional about deciding our way forward. Sometimes we do things without really thinking it all the way through from all angles. To be able to sit with everyone and think and talk in depth with one another and plan together — to engage the whole church in that process — is going to give everyone a change to give feedback. Halloween Carnival 17 Album

Tricks & Treats at Halloween Carnival

Our annual celebration was full of family fun with bounce houses, pony rides, a petting zoo, games, prizes, crafts, and more! Plus, we collected canned food items to help our First Street Methodist Mission feed those who are hungry. “The Halloween Carnival was amazing . . . and HUMONGOUS!” exclaimed Director of Children’s Ministries Mister Mark. “We loved seeing SO MANY people come out on a beautiful Sunday afternoon to spend time together as a big church family.” 2017 Halloween Carnival Photos

When I was in college, I heard famous astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson give a lecture to a packed stadium. He was talking about the origin and fate of the universe, and as a political science undergrad who had never taken a class on astrophysics or astronomy or even knew how to point out Venus, a lot of it was pretty over my head. A Challenge to Church Members

Linda Moore

My husband and I joined First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth in part because we felt it was a good place for us, but mainly because we felt it was a good place to help us raise our young son. As he grew and became more involved in the Children’s Ministries and Choir, we came to realize the services and programs provided for him did not run themselves, nor were they really “free.” Read more.
